Factories, dark mode, and project-level access

October 20, 2026

This release adds factories: your team's repeatable routines, saved once so your AI app runs them the same way every time. It also adds dark mode, a dashboard that starts with what needs you, and a way to give someone access to only the projects they need.

New: Factories — run your team's routines the same way every time

Why you should care: the useful things you ask an AI app to do each week, like a status update, a research summary or a customer brief, depend on someone remembering the right prompt, sources and checks. A factory saves all of that once. Anyone on the team gets the same quality of result, and you only step in to accept it.

A factory is a saved recipe: the inputs it needs, the steps to follow, the checks the result must pass, and where the result goes. Ask your AI app (Claude, ChatGPT, Codex or Cursor) to run it. The app reports each step back to Clarabit as it works. When it's done, the factory's owner accepts the result or rejects it with a reason. Recipes are versioned, so changes are reviewed before they apply.

  • Request a run yourself, put one on a schedule, or share a public form so people outside your workspace can ask for one.
  • Hand work along: a factory can pass its result to another factory. For example, accepting a research run can queue the writing factory next.
  • See it all: the Factories map shows your factories, the AI apps that run them and what they produce. The Factories guide explains every recipe option and how to test a factory before you rely on it.

To start, ask your AI app to "propose a factory for our weekly status update", or open Factories in Clarabit.

New: dark mode

Every screen now works in dark mode. Use the theme toggle in the navigation to choose system, light or dark. Clarabit remembers your choice and applies it before the page appears, so you don't get a white flash.

Improved: start with what needs you

Why you should care: when you open Clarabit, the first question is "what's waiting on me?" Now that's the first thing you see.

  • Dashboard: a Needs your attention list sits at the top, next to what's running now. Blockers and runs to accept come first, and the top item is marked Next.
  • Task page: one card holds the next step: the blocker to answer, or the buttons to launch the task in your AI app. The details sit below it.
  • Attention details: what you're asked to do, and what will clear the item, come first. The evidence reads as plain words instead of raw data.

New: give someone access to just the projects they need

Workspace owners can now invite a restricted member, who sees only the projects you choose. This is useful for a contractor, client or partner. Change their projects, or lift the restriction, at any time from Workspace settings. Their AI app sees the same limits.

Fixed: private files stay private

Uploads and attachments now check access every time they're opened. Someone who was removed from your workspace, or who never belonged to it, can't open a private file from an old link. Shared pages and published release notes still show their images.

Connector update

The cloud connector and the local MCP package are both on 2.8.0, which adds the factory tools. See the MCP changelog for details and how to update.
